Chevrolet insurance follows the same rules as any UAE motor policy, but Chevy owners face a few questions of their own: how much a Tahoe or Silverado costs to insure, whether an imported US-spec car can get full cover, and what the dealer warranty already pays for. This page answers them with real quotes from 11 insurers. You can then compare car insurance quotes online for your own car.

What is Chevrolet car insurance?

Chevrolet car insurance is a motor policy for a Chevrolet registered in the UAE. It is issued on the terms of the Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy, which every licensed insurer must follow, and insurers are regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE. There is no separate "Chevrolet" product: the cover works as it does for any car, while the price, repair options and parts availability change with the model.

Third-party liability cover is the legal minimum for every car on UAE roads. Comprehensive cover adds protection for your own Chevrolet.

Chevrolet car insurance price in the UAE

Third-party Chevrolet insurance cost AED 570–882 a year across the five models Lookinsure quoted in September 2026.

Comprehensive Chevrolet insurance cost AED 1,372–2,667 a year for the same five models.

These are sample quotes for one vehicle and driver profile. Comprehensive premiums are calculated as a share of the insured value, so a newer or higher-value Chevrolet will cost more. Read how insurers value your car for more on how that value is set.

Two insurers stood out on price. Methaq car insurance quoted on four of the five models and was the cheapest comprehensive option for the Captiva. Adamjee car insurance had the lowest comprehensive premium for both the Cruze and the Malibu.

For the bigger Chevrolets, Sukoon car insurance quoted the cheapest comprehensive Silverado at AED 1,800, almost AED 870 below the highest quote. Fidelity United car insurance was the cheapest third-party option for the Captiva and the Tahoe.

The quotes point to a simple rule of thumb: third-party premiums follow the size and type of the vehicle, while comprehensive premiums follow its value. Saloons such as the Cruze and Malibu cost AED 570–600 for third-party cover, and large SUVs and pickups such as the Tahoe and Silverado cost AED 770–882.

Chevrolet insurance by model

Chevrolet Tahoe insurance

A Chevrolet Tahoe cost AED 770–880 a year for third-party cover and AED 1,600–1,655 for comprehensive cover in the September 2026 sample. The three comprehensive quotes, from Dubai National Insurance, Methaq and Orient, were within AED 55 of each other. For a Tahoe, the choice comes down to repair terms and excess rather than price.

Many Tahoe owners take the car into the desert, and standard policies stop at the edge of the tarmac. If you drive on sand, add off-road cover before your first trip.

Chevrolet Silverado insurance

The Silverado had the widest price spread of any Chevrolet: AED 1,800–2,667 for comprehensive cover and AED 807–882 for third-party cover. A private policy suits a Silverado that is registered and used privately.

A Silverado that carries goods or equipment for a business needs pickup and truck insurance or commercial vehicle insurance. An insurer can refuse a claim when the declared use doesn't match how the vehicle was actually used.

Chevrolet Captiva insurance

The Captiva was one of the cheapest Chevrolets to insure comprehensively, from AED 1,372 with Methaq. RAK Insurance and Dubai National Insurance both quoted AED 1,600. Third-party cover started at AED 700, slightly more than the saloons because the Captiva is an SUV.

Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu insurance

The Cruze and Malibu were the cheapest Chevrolets to insure: AED 570–600 for third-party cover and AED 1,375–1,500 for comprehensive cover. Both are popular second-hand buys. On an older saloon that you own outright, third-party cover can be the sensible choice (see the verdict below).

Chevrolet Spark, Camaro and Corvette insurance

The September 2026 sample doesn't include the Spark, Camaro or Corvette, so this page publishes no figures for them. The Spark is a small city hatchback, and insurers price it alongside other small cars. The Camaro and Corvette are rated as performance cars, which usually means a higher premium, a higher excess and stricter terms for young drivers — the same approach as other sports car insurance.

Comprehensive or third-party: which suits your Chevrolet?

Chevrolet auto insurance comes in two forms. Third-party car insurance is the legal minimum and pays only for damage and injury you cause to others. Comprehensive car insurance also pays to repair or replace your own Chevrolet after an accident, fire or theft.

At the cheapest insurer for each model, comprehensive cover cost AED 672–993 a year more than third-party cover in the sample.

Choose comprehensive
Choose comprehensive if your Chevrolet is financed, less than about five years old, or worth more than you could comfortably replace. A single at-fault accident in a Tahoe or Silverado can easily cost more than the AED 1,000 difference.
Choose third-party
Choose third-party if you own an older Cruze, Malibu or Captiva outright and could pay for your own repairs. You save roughly AED 670–810 a year on the sample quotes.

US-spec Chevrolets and American car insurance

Yes, a US-spec Chevrolet can be insured in the UAE. Expect fewer insurers to offer comprehensive cover, and a higher premium than for the same model in GCC spec. Many Tahoes, Silverados and Camaros on UAE roads were imported from the US, and insurers treat non-GCC cars as a higher repair risk because some parts have to be imported.

Before you buy an imported Chevrolet, read how US-spec and GCC-spec cars differ and check the chassis (VIN) number to confirm where the car came from. The guide to insuring a non-GCC car explains how insurers price imports and which documents they ask for.

Chevrolet is a General Motors brand, alongside GMC and Cadillac. If you also own another GM vehicle, see General Motors car insurance.

Chevrolet warranty, roadside assistance and your insurance

A new Chevrolet from an authorised UAE dealer comes with a factory warranty and roadside assistance. Chevrolet Arabia publishes the terms below; they were verified in September 2026.

Factory warranty
3 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first
Extended warranty
An optional 2 more years, up to 5 years or 150,000 km
Chevrolet roadside assistance
4 years, including towing, battery jump-starts, fuel delivery, tyre help and sand recovery

The warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It never pays for accident damage or theft — that is what insurance is for.

Once the 4-year dealer roadside service ends, roadside assistance cover on your policy fills the gap. After the warranty expires, mechanical breakdown cover pays for costly internal failures that a standard policy won't.

What Chevrolet car insurance covers and excludes

CoverThird-partyComprehensive

Injury to other peopleYesYes
Damage to your Chevrolet in an accidentNoYes
Fire and theftNoYes
Agency repair at a Chevrolet dealerNoDepends on the insurer and the car's age
Personal accident cover for driver and passengersOptionalIncluded or optional, depending on the plan
Off-road drivingNoOnly with an off-road add-on

Every UAE policy excludes driving under the influence, driving without a valid licence, racing, and wear and tear. Three exclusions catch Chevrolet owners in particular. Lift kits, larger wheels and engine tuning must be declared, so read how modifications affect your policy before you fit them. For a drive into Oman, you need an Oman extension on your policy or an Oman Orange Card.

Undeclared modifications
A claim can be reduced or refused if a lift kit, wheel upgrade or tune wasn't declared.
Driving outside the UAE
Oman is covered only with an extension or an Orange Card.
Undeclared business use
A privately insured pickup used for work may not be covered.

Add-ons fill specific gaps in a comprehensive policy. These three are the most useful for Chevrolet owners:

Personal accident
Personal accident cover for the driver and passengers
Windscreen
Windscreen cover for chips and cracks without losing your no-claims record
Flood
Car flood cover for rain and flood damage

What affects your Chevrolet insurance premium

Insurers price a Chevrolet on the car, the driver and the cover chosen. These six factors move the premium most:

Model and body type
Large SUVs and pickups cost more for third-party cover than saloons.
Value and age
Comprehensive premiums are a share of the insured value, which falls as the car ages.
GCC or US spec
Imported cars can cost more and may not qualify for agency repair.
Driver age and licence
Young drivers and new licence holders pay more.
Claims history
A clean record earns a no-claims discount.
Excess and repair type
A higher excess or garage repair lowers the premium; agency repair raises it.

How to lower your Chevrolet insurance premium

Comparing quotes is the quickest saving: on the sample, the comprehensive quotes for a Silverado were AED 867 apart. After that, the two biggest levers are your no-claims discount and the policy excess you agree to pay on each claim.

Compare every renewal
Your current insurer's renewal price is not always the lowest on offer.
Protect your no-claims record
Pay for very small repairs yourself if a claim would cost you the discount.
Raise the excess
A higher excess lowers the premium if you rarely claim.
Choose garage repair on an older car
Agency repair costs more and matters less once the warranty has ended.
Skip add-ons you already have
A new Chevrolet already has dealer roadside assistance for 4 years.

Documents required for Chevrolet insurance

Have these four documents ready before you start. The full documents checklist covers special cases such as imported and financed cars.

Emirates ID
For the policyholder
Driving licence
A valid UAE licence
Vehicle registration (Mulkiya)
Or the dealer's sale documents for a new car
Previous policy or no-claims certificate
To claim your no-claims discount when you switch insurer

Renewing Chevrolet car insurance

Renew before your policy expires. You need valid insurance to renew your Chevrolet's registration, and a lapse means the car cannot legally be driven. Renewal is also the best moment to compare, because your details and claims record are already in hand.

Step 1
Check your current cover
Note the expiry date, excess, repair type and add-ons.
Step 2
Compare renewal quotes
Compare your insurer's renewal offer against other quotes for the same cover.
Step 3
Pay and renew registration
Pay for the new policy, then renew the car's registration.

How to make a Chevrolet car insurance claim

Your insurer assesses and pays the claim, so keep its claims number and your policy number in the car. The step-by-step claim guide covers each emirate's reporting rules in detail.

Step 1
Report the accident
Get a police report; no insurer will process a claim without one.
Step 2
Notify your insurer
Submit the police report, photos, your licence and the Mulkiya.
Step 3
Survey and repair
The insurer inspects the damage and sends the car to an agency or a network garage.
Step 4
Collect your car
Pay any excess due and collect the repaired Chevrolet.

Frequently asked questions

Chevrolet car insurance is a UAE motor policy for a Chevrolet, issued on the terms of the Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy. Third-party cover is the legal minimum and pays for damage you cause to others. Comprehensive cover also pays for your own car. The price depends on the model, its value and whether it is GCC or US spec.

From AED 570 a year for third-party cover and AED 1,372 for comprehensive cover, based on sample quotes run on Lookinsure in September 2026. A Tahoe cost AED 1,600–1,655 comprehensive and a Silverado AED 1,800–2,667. Newer or higher-value cars cost more, because comprehensive premiums are a share of the insured value.

No, most are not. In the September 2026 sample, a Cruze or Malibu cost AED 570–600 a year for third-party cover, among the lowest premiums for any make. Large models cost more: a Silverado reached AED 2,667 for comprehensive cover. The Camaro and Corvette are priced as performance cars, which usually means higher premiums.

Yes. A US-spec Chevrolet can be insured for both third-party and comprehensive cover, but fewer insurers offer comprehensive cover on imports, and premiums are usually higher than for the GCC-spec model. Agency repair may not be available. Check the chassis number before you buy, and declare the car's specification when you get a quote.

Yes. A new Chevrolet from an authorised UAE dealer includes 4 years of roadside assistance, covering towing, battery jump-starts, fuel delivery, tyre help and sand recovery, according to Chevrolet Arabia. After that, or on an older used Chevrolet, you can add roadside assistance to your car insurance policy as an add-on.

Lookinsure's September 2026 sample quotes don't include the Spark, so there is no published figure for it. As a small city hatchback, it is priced alongside other small cars, and the closest models in the sample, the Cruze and Malibu, cost AED 570–600 for third-party cover. Run a quote for your exact car to get a real price.
