Mercedes car insurance in the UAE is standard motor cover priced for a car whose parts, labour and total-loss value all sit well above the market average. Every Mercedes on a UAE plate needs at least third-party liability cover under the Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy issued by the Central Bank of the UAE, and almost every owner should be buying more than that.
This page covers what Mercedes insurance actually costs in the UAE model by model, how agency repair changes the deal, which cover types make sense for which models, and which insurers quote on the brand. You can compare car insurance quotes online in a few minutes once you know what you are comparing.
Third-party cover on a Mercedes starts at around AED 600 a year. Comprehensive cover starts at roughly double that and climbs with the model, reaching AED 2,304 on an S 500 in the quotes below. That is the working rule for this brand: the legal minimum costs much the same as on any saloon, and everything you pay above it is buying back the repair cost of the car.
The C 200 is the cheapest Mercedes to insure in our quote sample. Comprehensive cover starts at AED 1,120 a year, and third-party liability starts at AED 600.
Insurer | Cover type | Annual premium |
Methaq | Comprehensive | AED 1,120 |
Adamjee Insurance | Comprehensive | AED 1,375 |
Insurance House | Comprehensive | AED 1,445 |
Methaq | Third-party liability | AED 600 |
RAK Insurance | Third-party liability | AED 600 |
Insurance House | Third-party liability | AED 630 |
The C 300 quotes at the same comprehensive premiums as the C 200 across all three insurers – AED 1,120 to AED 1,445 a year.
The extra engine output does not move the price at this level of the range.
Insurer | Cover type | Annual premium |
Methaq | Comprehensive | AED 1,120 |
Adamjee Insurance | Comprehensive | AED 1,375 |
Insurance House | Comprehensive | AED 1,445 |
Dubai National Insurance | Third-party liability | AED 600 |
Methaq | Third-party liability | AED 600 |
RAK Insurance | Third-party liability | AED 600 |
Moving from the C-Class to the E 300 does not change the entry price either: comprehensive still starts at AED 1,120 with Methaq. What changes is the top of the range, where Union Insurance quotes AED 1,500 against AED 1,445 for the same cover on a C-Class.
Insurer | Cover type | Annual premium |
Methaq | Comprehensive | AED 1,120 |
Insurance House | Comprehensive | AED 1,445 |
Union Insurance | Comprehensive | AED 1,500 |
Methaq | Third-party liability | AED 600 |
RAK Insurance | Third-party liability | AED 600 |
Insurance House | Third-party liability | AED 630 |
The E 350 is where comprehensive premiums start to move properly. The cheapest quote is AED 1,400 – 25% above the E 300 – and the highest is AED 1,800. Third-party cover barely moves, which is the clearest illustration on this page of what comprehensive is actually pricing.
Insurer | Cover type | Annual premium |
Methaq | Comprehensive | AED 1,400 |
Fidelity United | Comprehensive | AED 1,701 |
Dubai National Insurance | Comprehensive | AED 1,800 |
Methaq | Third-party liability | AED 600 |
RAK Insurance | Third-party liability | AED 620 |
Insurance House | Third-party liability | AED 630 |
The S 500 has the widest spread of any model on this page: AED 1,120 to AED 2,304 for comprehensive cover, a difference of more than double for the same car. This is the model where comparing insurers is worth the most money, and where reading the excess and repair terms behind the cheapest quote matters most.
Insurer | Cover type | Annual premium |
Methaq | Comprehensive | AED 1,120 |
Insurance House | Comprehensive | AED 2,189 |
RAK Insurance | Comprehensive | AED 2,304 |
Fidelity United | Third-party liability | AED 760 |
Methaq | Third-party liability | AED 760 |
RAK Insurance | Third-party liability | AED 770 |
Live quotes above cover the saloon range. For the SUVs, the AMG line and the electric models, the pricing logic is the same but the weighting shifts. If you are cross-shopping brands rather than models, car insurance by make shows how the rest of the market prices, including Porsche car insurance at the performance end.
Mercedes range | Typical profile | What moves the premium most |
A-Class, CLA, GLA | Entry range, lowest declared values in the line-up | Driver age and licence history – these are the models most often bought by younger drivers, and the age loading dominates |
GLC | The volume SUV, priced close to the C-Class saloons above | Model year and remaining agency-repair eligibility |
GLE, GLS | Large SUVs, high parts and sensor content | Repair network – the driver-assistance and sensor packages are where agency versus garage repair costs diverge fastest |
Maybach | Flagship values, frequently referred for underwriting | Declared value and total-loss exposure |
G-Class | High value, high theft profile, genuine off-road use | Declared value plus off-road use, which needs cover extended deliberately |
AMG variants (C 63, E 63, G 63) | Performance rated, narrowest insurer appetite | Engine output and driver profile – several insurers decline or load these outright |
EQE, EQS, EQB, EQC | Electric range, battery is the dominant repair cost | Battery replacement exposure and the availability of EV-qualified repairers |
Mercedes insurance cost – or Benz insurance cost, as owners often shorten it – moves on six things above all: the model and engine, the car's age and current value, the driver's age and UAE licence history, the claims record, the repair network chosen, and the voluntary excess accepted. The first two are fixed at purchase; the last three are where an owner actually has leverage.
All figures in this section are live quotes returned on Lookinsure, shown as annual premiums in UAE dirhams. Your own premium depends on the car's year, declared value, your claims history and the add-ons you select, so treat these as the shape of the market rather than a price list.
Mercedes car insurance is a motor policy covering a Mercedes-Benz vehicle registered in the UAE, sold in the same two forms as any other car policy: third-party liability, which is the legal minimum, and comprehensive, which also covers damage to your own car. What makes it a distinct purchase is the repair economics behind it. A front-end repair on a GLE or an S-Class runs several times the cost of the same repair on a mid-range saloon, so the choices that barely matter on a cheaper car – repair network, excess, depreciation terms – are the ones that decide whether a Mercedes policy is worth having.
Insurance for Mercedes Benz is written by most UAE insurers, but not all of them will write comprehensive cover on every model. High-performance AMG variants, older imports and cars above a certain declared value are routinely referred, declined or loaded.
Yes, relative to the market average – but not uniformly across the range, and the gap to direct rivals is smaller than most owners expect. A C-Class is insured on much the same terms as a comparable BMW car insurance or Audi car insurance policy. The premium separates sharply at the AMG, S-Class, G-Class and Maybach end, where declared values, performance ratings and parts costs all move together. The spread inside the Mercedes range is wider than the gap between Mercedes and the rest of the German segment.
Agency repair means your car is repaired at an authorised Mercedes-Benz service centre using genuine parts. Garage repair – sometimes called non-agency repair – means it goes to a workshop in the insurer's approved network. This is the single decision that most changes what a Mercedes policy is worth, and it explains most of the spread you can see in the S 500 table above.
Agency repair carries a premium loading and is generally restricted to newer cars: most UAE insurers cap eligibility at roughly three to five years from first registration [VERIFY – confirm the current limit per insurer]. Once a car ages out, the option disappears and cannot be bought back. Agency repair car insurance in Dubai is therefore a time-limited choice, not a permanent one.
Approved networks vary widely between insurers, and a garage-repair policy is only as good as the list behind it. Compare the approved garage lists of the insurers you are quoting before choosing on price, and check the excess on each policy at the same time – a cheaper premium with a higher excess is a different product, not a better deal.
Comprehensive, in almost every case. Third-party car insurance covers only the damage you cause to other people and their property – if you write off your own S 500, it pays nothing. Paying AED 600 instead of AED 1,120 saves AED 520 a year against a car worth six figures. That trade is defensible on a car worth AED 25,000 and indefensible here. The honest exception is an old, low-value Mercedes that is fully paid off and that you would not repair after a serious accident.
Comprehensive car insurance is also the only route to agency repair, zero-depreciation terms and most of the add-ons below. Mercedes Benz motor insurance sold as third-party only is a legal formality, not a protection strategy.
Scenario | Comprehensive | Third-party |
Damage to another vehicle or property | Covered | Covered |
Accident damage to your own Mercedes | Covered, less the excess | Not covered |
Theft or fire | Covered | Not covered |
Flood and natural disaster damage | Covered on most policies; confirm on the schedule | Not covered |
Repair at an authorised Mercedes-Benz centre | Available while the car is within the age limit | Not available |
Wear, tear and mechanical breakdown | Not covered as standard | Not covered |
Driving without a valid licence or under the influence | Not covered | Not covered |
Add-ons matter more on this brand than on most, because the components they cover are the expensive ones. Three are worth pricing on almost any Mercedes: engine protection cover, which matters on turbocharged and AMG units where a single failure can exceed the car's excess many times over; car key replacement cover, since a replacement Mercedes key and its coding is a four-figure job; and roadside assistance cover for flatbed recovery rather than a tow.
Owners of a G-Class, GLS or GLE that actually leaves tarmac should add 4×4 off-road cover – standard comprehensive policies exclude off-road damage, and dune driving is the most commonly declined luxury-SUV claim in the UAE. The same applies to a Range Rover car insurance policy, so compare the two on off-road terms rather than headline premium.
The EQ range – EQB, EQC, EQE and EQS – is underwritten differently from the combustion line-up. The battery pack is typically the single most valuable component in the car, and a pack damaged in an otherwise moderate impact can push the vehicle into a total loss. Ask specifically whether battery damage is covered at replacement value and whether the insurer's network includes EV-qualified repairers before comparing premiums. The same questions apply to Tesla car insurance, which is the closest comparison most UAE buyers will already have quotes for.
Seven insurers returned quotes across the five Mercedes models above. Methaq is the cheapest comprehensive quote on four of the five, and the only insurer quoting on every model in the sample. See the full list of UAE car insurance providers for terms, garage networks and claims routes.

Three levers do most of the work. Protect your no-claims discount – a clean multi-year record is the largest single saving available on this brand, and how the no-claims bonus works explains how it is transferred between insurers. Raise the voluntary excess deliberately, in full knowledge that you are trading a smaller premium for a larger bill at claim time. And compare every renewal rather than rolling over: the S 500 table above shows a AED 1,184 gap between the cheapest and dearest comprehensive quote on one car.
If cash flow rather than total cost is the constraint, you can pay for car insurance with Tamara or pay in installments with Tabby car insurance and spread the premium without an interest charge.
Do not let a policy lapse – driving uninsured in the UAE carries a fine, black points and vehicle impoundment, and a gap in cover affects your next premium. Start comparing about a month before expiry, and re-check whether your car is still inside the agency-repair age limit, because that is usually the year the right answer changes.
Claims are declined more often for procedural reasons than for coverage ones – a missing police report, an unnamed driver, or off-road damage on a policy without off-road cover.
Insuring a Mercedes well comes down to three decisions: comprehensive rather than third-party, agency repair while the car still qualifies, and the add-ons that match the components you actually risk. Get those right and start a quote to see what the market charges you.
