This page sets out what Fidelity United actually covers, what it costs against RAK Insurance and Al Sagr in the same quote, where its branches and approved garages are, and where it is the weaker choice. If you would rather start from price, compare car insurance quotes online in Dubai and UAE and filter to Fidelity United from the results.

What is Fidelity United motor insurance?

Fidelity United motor insurance is the car insurance line of United Fidelity Insurance Company (P.S.C.), a UAE insurer listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. The company was formed through a partnership between the United Insurance Company and Fidelity Assurance and Reinsurance of Lebanon, and it writes motor, medical and general lines across the Emirates.

It publishes exactly two private motor products, and the difference between them is straightforward:

  • Comprehensive cover — pays for damage to your own vehicle as well as damage and injury you cause to others.
  • Third-party liability cover — the legal minimum. It pays only for damage and injury you cause to others, never for your own car.

Every UAE motor policy is written on the Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy, the standard wording that applies across the market under Central Bank of the UAE regulation. That is why third-party bodily injury and property damage appear on both Fidelity plans — the floor is set by regulation, and insurers compete above it on limits, add-ons and service.

Fidelity United is a good choice for drivers who want practical everyday-use benefits at a low comprehensive premium, and a poor choice for drivers who need high liability limits, GCC driving cover or off-road protection.

That verdict comes from the quote comparison further down this page, where Fidelity United returned the lowest comprehensive premium of the three insurers compared — AED 1,600 against RAK Insurance at AED 1,805 and Al Sagr at AED 2,800 — while insuring the vehicle at its full AED 35,200 value.

Lookinsure does not publish a star rating for individual insurers. This review is built only from the quote data on this page and Fidelity United's own published policy terms.

Where Fidelity United is strong

Strength

What the evidence shows

Lowest comprehensive premium

AED 1,600 in the compared quote, against AED 1,805 and AED 2,800 for the same vehicle.

Everyday-use protection as standard

Windscreen accidental damage, personal belongings, door-lock replacement and valet-parking theft appear in eligible comprehensive configurations.

Full insured value

The vehicle was insured at AED 35,200 — the same as Al Sagr, and above RAK Insurance at AED 31,633.

Tiered roadside support

Bronze, Gold and Premium roadside packages can be selected per quote, on top of the insurer's own 24-hour line.

Workshop flexibility

Eligible quotes may offer a Dyna Trade workshop upgrade, which most insurers in this price band do not.

Six offices across five emirates

Where Fidelity United is weaker

Weakness

What the evidence shows

Third-party property damage limit

AED 2 million in the compared quote, against AED 3.5 million from RAK Insurance.

Driver accident cover is paid

Offered as an optional add-on at around AED 120, where RAK Insurance included it in the compared quote.

No family or employee accident benefit

Not highlighted in the compared quote. Relevant if you carry family or staff regularly.

No off-road cover

Fidelity United publishes no off-road extension for private motor policies.

GCC cover is limited

Oman own-damage extension and Orange Card are optional add-ons rather than included cover.

No new-car replacement

Not offered. RAK Insurance includes it for the first six months in the compared quote.

Choose Fidelity United if you want the lowest comprehensive premium of the three insurers compared here and you value windscreen, personal belongings, door-lock and valet-parking protection over the widest liability limits. Choose RAK Insurance instead if third-party property damage above AED 2 million, GCC driving or off-road cover matters more to you than price.

Fidelity comprehensive vs third-party car insurance

The choice comes down to one question: do you want your own car covered, or only your legal liability to others? If your car is financed, leased or worth more than about AED 30,000, comprehensive is the sensible answer — a single at-fault accident can cost more than the premium difference several times over.

The example below uses the comparison quote for a Toyota Corolla 2019 valued at AED 35,200. Premiums and available benefits change with driver profile, vehicle details, plan terms and selected add-ons, so always read the live quote card. Fidelity vs RAK vs Al Sagr third-party prices

Third-party is the legal minimum, and on price the three insurers sit within AED 400 of each other — which means the benefits, not the premium, should decide it. Personal accident benefits, ambulance cover and roadside support change the practical value of a policy far more than AED 50 on the premium does. The coverage type itself is explained on third-party car insurance.

The sample below is based on the quote scenario for a Toyota Corolla 2019 valued at AED 35,200. Premiums and benefits vary by driver, insurer underwriting, vehicle details and selected add-ons.

Al Sagr is AED 49.50 cheaper than Fidelity United here, and RAK Insurance is AED 350 dearer but carries unlimited bodily injury cover plus family and employee accident benefits. On third-party, price is the weakest reason to choose between them.

Fidelity vs RAK vs Al Sagr comprehensive prices

On comprehensive, the spread is real: AED 1,600 to AED 2,800 for the same car. In the quotes compared here, comprehensive premiums ran between roughly 4.5% and 8% of the insured vehicle value, while third-party premiums stayed between AED 900 and AED 1,300 regardless of what the car was worth. That gap is the single most useful number on this page when you are budgeting.

The sample below uses the same Toyota Corolla 2019 valued at AED 35,200. Actual premiums, insured value and available benefits vary by vehicle, driver profile, selected plan and quote date.

What Fidelity United car insurance covers

The benefits below are the ones Fidelity United publishes as standard on eligible comprehensive plans. Exact inclusions still depend on the plan and quote configuration, so check them against the live quote card before you pay.

  • Third-party liability: injury or property damage you cause to others, subject to policy terms and limits.

  • Own-damage cover: your own vehicle against covered loss or damage under comprehensive plans.

  • Fire and theft cover: eligible fire or theft-related loss where included.

  • Windscreen accidental damage: eligible glass damage with the excess waived. The coverage type is explained on windscreen insurance cover.

  • Personal belongings: eligible items inside the vehicle. See what a typical personal belongings cover pays out.

  • Door-lock replacement: lock replacement after theft or damage, comparable to a standalone car key replacement cover.

  • Valet parking theft: theft while the vehicle is with a valet service, in selected comprehensive configurations.

  • 24-hour emergency roadside assistance: reachable on 800-4101. Quotes may also offer paid Bronze, Gold and Premium tiers on top — what these packages typically include is set out under roadside assistance cover.

  • National Ambulance Service: emergency medical transport after a covered accident.

  • Emergency medical expenses: accident-related medical costs, subject to policy limits.

  • Car replacement (not at fault): a replacement vehicle where you are not the at-fault party.

  • No claim discount: a renewal reduction after claim-free years. How the discount is earned and carried between insurers is covered under no-claims bonus.

  • Repairs at dealer, agency or approved workshops: routing depends on the plan and the workshop option selected.

Fidelity United optional add-ons

Fidelity United's add-on list is where it earns its reputation for flexibility. Each of these is bought on top of the base premium and none is automatic, so a Fidelity quote can end up cheaper or dearer than a rival depending on what you attach to it.

Add-on

What it does

Natural calamity cover

Eligible flood, storm, hurricane or earthquake damage. What this protects against in practice is set out under flood damage car insurance.

Personal accident — driver

Compensation for driver injury or death. Around AED 120 in the compared quote. See how personal accident cover is structured.

Personal accident — passengers

Equivalent compensation for passengers, usually sold as a combined option with driver cover.

Rental car facility

A replacement car for 10 or 5 days while yours is repaired. Compare against a standalone replacement car cover.

Oman own-damage extension

Extends own-damage cover geographically to the Sultanate of Oman.

Orange Card

Extends third-party cover to GCC countries. What it is and how to get one is explained in the guide to the Orange Card for driving in Oman.

Dyna Trade workshop upgrade

Upgrades repair routing to the Dyna Trade network on eligible quote configurations.

Loading and unloading cover

Covers eligible damage occurring while goods are loaded or unloaded.

Special paints, stickers and graphics

Extends cover to non-standard paintwork and vehicle graphics.

Tool of trade extension

Relevant where the vehicle is used with attached or carried work equipment.

What Fidelity car insurance does not cover

Fidelity United car insurance is subject to exclusions, policy conditions and insurer approval rules like any UAE motor policy. The exact list depends on the plan, but expect limitations in the situations below — most of them are standard across the market, and are set out in more detail under common car insurance exclusions.

Exclusion area

What it means

Driving without a valid license

Claims may be rejected if the driver was not legally licensed.

Driving under the influence

Alcohol- or drug-related incidents are typically excluded.

Intentional damage

Deliberate loss or damage is not covered.

Unauthorized modifications

Undeclared or unapproved vehicle modifications may affect claim validity.

Mechanical wear and tear

Routine deterioration and maintenance issues are not insurance claims.

Commercial misuse

Private car policies may not apply to commercial use.

Incidents outside covered geography

Claims outside approved territorial limits may not apply unless the right extension was selected.

Off-road driving

Fidelity United publishes no off-road extension for private motor policies, so treat desert and off-road driving as excluded unless the quote card says otherwise.

Own damage under a third-party policy

Third-party liability insurance never covers damage to the insured vehicle.

Off-road is the exclusion most often discovered too late. If you take a 4x4 into the desert with any regularity, compare insurers that list off-road protection explicitly — the options are set out under 4x4 car insurance.

Note: always review the live quote card, policy wording and insurer terms before purchase.

Documents required to buy Fidelity car insurance

Three documents cover most purchases: Emirates ID, UAE driving license and Mulkiya. Requirements vary with vehicle status, insurer checks and the policy type selected.

Situation

Documents commonly required

Existing car

Emirates ID, UAE driving license, Mulkiya

New car

Emirates ID, UAE driving license, vehicle details

Ownership transfer

Transfer-related documents if required by the insurer or transaction type

The full list, including the less common cases, is set out in the guide to the documents required for car insurance in the UAE.

How to make a Fidelity car insurance claim

Register the claim with Fidelity United before any repair work starts. Repairs begun without authorization are the most common reason a valid claim gets reduced or refused.

Claims can be registered through Fidelity United's website or by calling 800 842. Three documents are requested at registration:

  • Police report
  • Valid vehicle registration card
  • Valid driving license

The insurer's motor claims process then follows six stages. The general UAE process, including the deadlines that apply, is set out in the guide to how to file a car insurance claim in the UAE.

Stage

What happens

Claim registration

Submit the claim through Fidelity United's website or by phone.

Vehicle drop-off

The vehicle is taken to an approved workshop from Fidelity United's network.

Repair estimate

The workshop prepares a repair estimate.

Vehicle inspection

Fidelity United surveys the car and issues repair authorization where approved.

Work order

Repair begins and the customer is told the expected repair duration.

Vehicle handover

The workshop notifies the customer when the vehicle is ready.

If the repair estimate exceeds the insured value, the claim is settled as a total loss instead of a repair, and the settlement is based on the value shown on your policy schedule — AED 35,200 in the compared quote. How that valuation is reached is explained under total loss claims.

Fidelity United approved garage list

Repair routing depends on the policy, the workshop option selected and insurer approval. The Fidelity United insurance garage list below covers approved repair centres across six emirates.

Frequently asked questions

Fidelity United motor insurance is the car insurance line of United Fidelity Insurance Company (P.S.C.), a UAE insurer listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. It sells two motor products: comprehensive cover, which pays for damage to your own vehicle, and third-party liability cover, the legal minimum.

Fidelity United suits drivers who want everyday-use benefits at a competitive premium rather than the widest liability limits. In the comparison on this page it returned the lowest comprehensive quote of the three insurers, and it includes windscreen, personal belongings and door-lock cover as standard on eligible comprehensive plans.

In the quote compared on this page, a Toyota Corolla 2019 valued at AED 35,200, Fidelity United returned AED 1,600 comprehensive and AED 949.50 third-party. Across the three insurers compared, comprehensive premiums ran between 4.5% and 8% of insured vehicle value. Your own premium depends on driver profile and vehicle details.

Fidelity United's toll-free customer care number is 800 842, and its 24-hour emergency roadside assistance line is 800-4101. Customer care operates Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. Claims and general enquiries can also be sent to [email protected]. Both numbers were verified against Fidelity United's own contact page.

No. Fidelity United publishes six offices across five emirates: two in Dubai and one each in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Al Ain drivers use the Abu Dhabi office at Bloom Central on Airport Road, or buy and renew online without visiting a branch at all.

The approved garage list is on this page, above. Fidelity United's network covers Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, and includes Al Kayed Workshop, Emirates Transport, Motor World and Elite Motors. Repairs must be authorized by Fidelity United before the workshop starts work.

Yes. Fidelity United includes 24-hour emergency roadside assistance on its motor policies, reachable on 800-4101. Separately, quotes compared through Lookinsure may offer roadside packages in Bronze, Gold and Premium tiers as a paid option, so check which applies to the specific quote you are buying.

Fidelity United does not publish an off-road extension for private motor policies, so treat off-road and desert driving as excluded unless your quote card states otherwise. If you drive a 4x4 off-road regularly, compare insurers that list off-road cover explicitly before you buy.
