Insurance House is an Abu Dhabi–based UAE insurer that sells comprehensive and third-party motor cover to private and commercial drivers. It is a motor and general insurer, not a home insurance provider. On Lookinsure you can compare car insurance quotes from UAE insurers, place Insurance House side by side with its closest competitors on price and benefits, and buy the policy online in one session.
Insurance House is a UAE public shareholding insurance company headquartered in Abu Dhabi, with offices in Dubai and Sharjah. It underwrites motor, medical, property and personal lines, and its motor book is split into private motor insurance and commercial motor insurance.
Like every motor insurer operating in the country, Insurance House is regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE, and the cover its policies must provide is set by the Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy — the standard wording that defines minimum third-party limits, compulsory benefits and permitted exclusions for all UAE motor policies. Insurers compete on price, add-ons and service around that floor, not below it.
If you are insuring a van, pickup or company fleet rather than a private car, that sits under commercial vehicle insurance instead.
The difference is straightforward: third-party cover pays for damage and injury you cause to other people, and comprehensive adds your own vehicle to that. Everything else — windscreen, personal belongings, flood damage — follows from which side of that line the policy sits on.
| Feature | Insurance House comprehensive | Insurance House third-party |

Subject to policy terms and the selected plan.
Two limits are worth reading closely before you choose. Personal belongings cover is capped at AED 3,000 and does not extend to cash or phones on every plan, and flood damage cover only exists on the comprehensive side. If you park in an area that floods, third-party cover leaves you paying for your own car. For a fuller breakdown of the two policy types across the UAE market, see how comprehensive and third-party cover differ.
Third-party cover from Insurance House was quoted at AED 709 for a 2021 Toyota Corolla, against AED 728 from DNI, AED 898 from Tokio Marine and AED 1,019.62 from RAK. Comprehensive cover for the same car came to AED 1,615, against AED 1,700 from DNI, AED 1,829.25 from RAK and AED 2,538 from Tokio Marine.
Across the four comprehensive quotes compared on this page, premiums ran between 3.7% and 6.9% of the declared vehicle value per year — Insurance House sat at the bottom of that band. Third-party premiums do not scale with car value in the same way; they are set by vehicle class and driver profile, which is why the TPL spread here is only about AED 310 from cheapest to most expensive.
Your own quote will move with the car’s declared value, its age, your claims history and how long you have held a UAE licence. Model-specific pricing patterns are set out on the Toyota car insurance page, and the same logic applies to other brands.
Third-party car insurance is usually chosen by drivers who want the lowest legal cover. The cheapest policy is not automatically the best value: compare the premium against accident benefits, roadside assistance and the property damage limit before deciding.
The insurers benchmarked here are Tokio Marine car insurance, RAK car insurance and DNI car insurance.
| TPL comparison point | Insurance House | Tokio Marine | RAK Insurance | DNI |
| Basic premium (Toyota Corolla) | AED 709 | AED 898 | AED 1,019.62 | AED 728 |
| Third-party bodily injury or death | Covered | Covered | Unlimited liability | Unlimited liability |
| Third-party property damage | Covered | Covered | Up to AED 2,000,000 | Up to AED 2,000,000 |
| Driver accident cover | Included | AED 200,000 | Optional add-on | Included |
| Passenger accident cover | Included | AED 200,000 | Optional add-on | Not specified |
| Roadside assistance | Included (24/7) | Included (24/7) | Included (24/7 UAE + Oman) | Not included |
| Oman extension | Not specified | Own damage only | Optional Orange Card | Not specified |
| Ambulance services | Included | Included | Up to AED 6,770 per person | Not specified |
Note: prices are based on a 2021 Toyota Corolla valued at approximately AED 43,400.
Comprehensive car insurance should not be compared on price alone. A lower premium often means a lower declared value or fewer included benefits, and the gap usually shows up in windscreen limits, replacement vehicles and cross-border cover rather than in the headline number.

Choose Insurance House if you want the lowest premium on this list without giving up driver and passenger accident cover or 24/7 roadside assistance. It was the cheapest quote on both policy types here, and unlike RAK it does not push accident benefits into paid add-ons, or unlike DNI leave roadside assistance out of the third-party plan.
Choose differently in three specific cases. If you drive into Oman regularly, RAK is the only insurer here with a defined cross-border route. If you need a courtesy car while yours is repaired, Tokio Marine is the only one that commits to a period. And if unlimited windscreen cover matters — a real consideration on the Abu Dhabi–Dubai truck routes — RAK is unlimited where Insurance House caps at AED 5,000.
| Your priority | What to check | Likely direction |
| Lowest third-party premium | Base premium | Insurance House |
| Accident benefits included, not sold as add-ons | Driver and passenger accident cover | Insurance House or Tokio Marine |
| Best comprehensive value per dirham of cover | Benefits against premium | Insurance House |
| Highest third-party property limits | Property damage limit | RAK Insurance |
| Driving into Oman | Cross-border extension | RAK Insurance |
| Replacement car during repairs | Courtesy vehicle period | Tokio Marine |
| Unlimited windscreen cover | Glass limit | RAK Insurance |
Standard Insurance House comprehensive cover repairs your car at an approved workshop, not at the brand’s own service centre. Agency repair is available as a paid add-on, and it typically costs more because the insurer is paying dealership labour rates and genuine parts.
The rule of thumb most UAE drivers use: take agency repair while the car is under manufacturer warranty or under roughly three years old, because non-agency repairs can affect a warranty claim and hurt resale value. After that, workshop repair through the insurer’s network is usually the better economic choice.
Based on standard UAE motor policy wording, the following are generally excluded:
Flood and storm damage is an exception worth stating plainly: it is covered under Insurance House comprehensive plans and not under third-party plans. Earthquake and other catastrophe perils are treated separately in the policy schedule, so check the wording if that matters to you.
Important: always read the final policy wording before you buy, because exclusions and limits vary by plan.
Buying or renewing an Insurance House policy through Lookinsure takes six steps, and you can get a car insurance quote online before entering any payment details.
Renew before the current policy expires. A UAE vehicle registration cannot be renewed without valid insurance, and a lapse means you cannot legally drive the car even for a day.
Renewal is not automatic re-pricing at last year’s number. Your car’s declared value falls each year, which pulls the comprehensive premium down, while a claim in the previous period pushes it up and can cost you the no-claims discount you had built. A clean claims record is the single largest lever most drivers have on their renewal price, and no-claims discounts are usually portable between UAE insurers when you switch, provided you can produce a no-claims certificate from the outgoing insurer.
Because of that portability, renewal is the natural moment to re-compare rather than roll over. If you are moving the policy onto a different car rather than renewing the same one, see transferring a car insurance policy in the UAE.
Eligible customers can split an Insurance House premium into four interest-free payments at checkout, through Tabby car insurance and Tamara car insurance.
What a four-payment plan looks like for a 2021 Toyota Corolla valued at AED 43,400
| Coverage type | Total policy price | First payment today | Remaining payments |
|---|---|---|---|
| Third-party insurance | AED 709 | AED 177.25 | 3 × AED 177.25 |
| Comprehensive insurance | AED 1,615 | AED 403.75 | 3 × AED 403.75 |
Approval sits with the payment provider, not with Insurance House or Lookinsure, and eligibility is checked at the point of payment.
Report the accident to the police first and get a police report — without it, a UAE motor claim cannot proceed. Then pick an approved workshop and submit your documents.
Documents required for a claim: police report, vehicle registration card (mulkiya) and the driver’s licence. Under a third-party policy only the other party’s damage is covered; your own vehicle is not.
Repairs go through the insurer’s approved network, and choosing a garage that is already on it is what keeps a repair cashless. Approved garages by insurer and emirate are listed in the UAE car insurance approved garage list, and the wider process, timelines and common rejection reasons are covered in how to file a car accident insurance claim in the UAE.
Insurance House is headquartered in Abu Dhabi and serves customers across the country, with offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. Cover and pricing are national rather than emirate-specific, but registration and testing rules differ by emirate, which is worth knowing before you renew.
Local requirements are set out for car insurance in Abu Dhabi and car insurance in Sharjah.
