That range is wide because a Range Rover is not one car. An Evoque and an Autobiography sit at opposite ends of the same badge, and the gap between them is larger than the gap between most mainstream brands. This page sets out what each model actually costs to insure, what drives the number up or down, and which cover a luxury SUV owner in the UAE should be buying. You can compare car insurance quotes online in the UAE in a few minutes once you know what you are looking for.

How much Range Rover insurance costs in the UAE

Comprehensive cover on a Range Rover runs roughly 2% to 3% of the car's current market value per year. That single rule explains the spread better than any list of factors: the premium tracks what the car is worth today, not what it cost new and not what badge is on the tailgate.

Range Rover insurance prices in the UAE vary far more by model than by insurer, which is why comparing on the badge alone tells you very little. The table below gives indicative annual premiums by model, based on quotes run through Lookinsure's platform and verified in September 2026. Your own figure will land inside or near these bands depending on your age, claims history and the emirate you register in.

Range Rover model

Average third-party liability (TPL)

Average comprehensive premium

Range Rover Evoque

AED 1,000 – AED 1,300

AED 4,500 – AED 6,500

Range Rover Velar

AED 1,100 – AED 1,400

AED 5,500 – AED 8,500

Range Rover Sport

AED 1,200 – AED 1,600

AED 8,500 – AED 14,000

Range Rover Vogue / SE

AED 1,300 – AED 1,800

AED 11,000 – AED 18,000

Range Rover Autobiography

AED 1,500 – AED 3,000

AED 18,000 – AED 25,000+

Spread monthly, that is roughly AED 375 to AED 540 for an Evoque and AED 1,500 to AED 2,080 for an Autobiography. UAE motor policies are annual contracts, so a monthly figure is a way of budgeting rather than a payment plan — though you can split the premium into instalments at checkout.

Range Rover Evoque insurance

The Evoque is the cheapest Range Rover to insure, at AED 4,500 to AED 6,500 comprehensive. It is the smallest and least powerful car in the range, its parts are shared more widely across the Land Rover platform, and its replacement value is a fraction of the flagship's. If you want the badge without the premium, this is where it sits.

Range Rover Velar insurance

Velar cover runs AED 5,500 to AED 8,500 comprehensive. It sits between the Evoque and the Sport in size, price and premium. The Velar's cost driver is its bodywork and electronics rather than its engine — flush door handles, large glass areas and the twin-screen interior are expensive to put right after even a modest impact.

Range Rover Sport insurance

The Sport costs AED 8,500 to AED 14,000 a year comprehensive, and it is the most-quoted Range Rover in the UAE. The jump from the Velar is driven by engine output and repair cost. Higher-output variants attract a further loading, and insurers price the Sport's performance versions closer to the flagship than to the Velar.

Range Rover Vogue, SE and Autobiography insurance

Vogue, SE and Autobiography are trim levels of the full-size Range Rover rather than separate models, which is why they are priced separately here. A Vogue or SE runs AED 11,000 to AED 18,000 comprehensive; an Autobiography runs AED 18,000 to AED 25,000 and above. Long-wheelbase and SV specifications sit at the top of that band. At this level the premium is almost entirely a function of replacement value, and how a car's value drives the premium matters more than any other single input.

What drives a Range Rover premium up or down

Six inputs account for most of the variation between two quotes on the same car.

Model and market value
The single largest factor. An Autobiography costs roughly four times an Evoque to insure because it is worth roughly four times as much.
Vehicle age
Premiums fall as market value falls, but agency repair usually stops being offered once the car passes five years.
Driver age and experience
Drivers under 25, and anyone holding a UAE licence for under a year, attract a loading on a vehicle in this class.
Claims history
A clean record builds a no-claims discount year on year; a recent at-fault claim can move a Range Rover quote by thousands.
Emirate of registration
Rates differ between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the northern emirates, reflecting local claims frequency.
Cover type and add-ons
Agency repair is the most expensive single option on a luxury SUV and can add a meaningful percentage to the base premium.

Which insurers offer the best cover for a luxury SUV like a Range Rover

The decisive question is not which insurer is cheapest. It is which insurer will approve an agency repair on a car of your Range Rover's age, and how they value it in a total loss. A policy that saves AED 1,500 at renewal and then settles a written-off Vogue at book value rather than market value has cost you far more than it saved.

Judge a luxury SUV policy on three things: whether agency repair is included or purchasable, how the sum insured is set, and whether the insurer has a working relationship with the authorised dealer network. Price comes fourth. The same logic applies to any high-value vehicle, and it is worth reading how insuring a high-value car in the UAE differs from insuring a standard saloon before you shortlist.

Lookinsure works with the following UAE insurers, all of them writing cover for vehicles in this segment.

GIG Gulf

GIG Gulf car insurance is one of the larger regional insurers operating across the UAE and the wider GCC, and is regularly quoted on luxury and performance vehicles. It is a reasonable first comparison point for a Sport or a full-size Range Rover.

Al Fujairah National Insurance Company

AFNIC car insurance — Al Fujairah National Insurance Company — has decades of trading history in the UAE motor market and strong financial backing, and quotes across both comprehensive and third-party tiers.

Sukoon Insurance

Sukoon car insurance, formerly Oman Insurance Company, is among the largest motor insurers in the Emirates and offers comprehensive policies with a range of optional extensions.

Al Sagr Insurance

Al Sagr car insurance has more than 30 years in the UAE insurance market and quotes across the private motor segment.

Salama Insurance

Salama car insurance is one of the longest-established providers in the Emirates and writes Takaful-structured motor cover for owners who want a Shariah-compliant policy.

Oriental Insurance

Oriental car insurance offers a broad motor product range spanning both comprehensive and third-party tiers.

RAK Insurance

RAK car insurance — Ras Al Khaimah National Insurance — is a long-standing northern-emirates insurer that quotes competitively on private motor policies.

Comprehensive or third party: which cover a Range Rover needs

Buy comprehensive cover on any Range Rover you would not write a cheque to replace tomorrow. Third-party liability is legal, but it pays nothing towards your own car — and on a vehicle worth AED 200,000 to over AED 900,000, that is the whole exposure.

Third-party liability is the legal minimum in the UAE and covers injury and property damage you cause to other people. It does not repair your Range Rover, it does not replace it if it is stolen, and it does not respond to fire. Comprehensive car insurance adds your own vehicle to the policy; third party car insurance remains a defensible choice only on a much older, low-value car.

What Range Rover insurance covers and what it excludes

A comprehensive UAE motor policy is built on the Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy, so the core of what is covered is consistent between insurers. The differences sit in the optional extensions and the exclusions.

Generally covered

Generally not covered

Accidental damage to your own vehicle from a collision

Wear and tear — tyres, brakes, clutch and routine deterioration

Theft of the vehicle, and fire damage

Mechanical or electrical failure not caused by a covered accident

Third-party injury and property damage, as required by UAE law

Driving without a valid UAE licence, which voids the policy

Natural events including storm and flood damage

Off-road and desert driving, unless off-road use is specifically added

Agency repair with genuine parts, where the option is taken

Racing, track use and any competitive event

Two exclusions matter more on a Range Rover than on almost any other car in the UAE. The first is off-road damage. A standard comprehensive policy covers you on tarmac; take the same car into the dunes at Al Qudra or Big Red and a damage claim can be declined outright, because off-road use falls outside the policy unless it has been declared and added. Range Rovers are bought for exactly that capability and insured, by default, without it.

The second is mechanical failure. Air suspension, transfer cases and infotainment modules are the components Range Rover owners actually spend money on, and none of them are an insurance claim unless an accident caused the failure. That is what mechanical breakdown cover exists for, and it is a separate purchase from your motor policy. If the car is damaged beyond economic repair, how a total loss is settled determines what you actually receive.

Agency repair and Range Rover service centres

Take agency repair while your Range Rover is under five years old, and accept a non-agency policy after that. Agency repair sends the car to the authorised Range Rover dealer and uses genuine parts, which protects both the service history and the resale value on a vehicle where both are scrutinised at sale. It is the most valuable single option on a luxury SUV policy and the most expensive.

Once the car is older, most insurers stop offering the option at any price, and the network of independent specialists becomes the realistic route — our guide to Range Rover service centres in the UAE covers who works on these cars outside the dealer network.

One thing to confirm before you buy: whether your car is GCC specification. Imported Range Rovers on US or European specification can be quoted differently, and some insurers restrict agency repair on them. The difference between GCC and non-GCC specification affects both your premium and where the car can be repaired.

Add-ons worth taking on a Range Rover

Add-ons let you build cover around how the car is actually used rather than accepting a standard package. On a vehicle in this class, three are worth the money for most owners.

Roadside assistance cover matters more on an air-sprung SUV than on a saloon, because a suspension fault immobilises the car rather than slowing it down. Windscreen cover is inexpensive and pays for itself on a single replacement, and a Range Rover screen with a heads-up display or rain sensor is not a cheap piece of glass. Key replacement cover is the one owners dismiss and then regret, because a lost smart key on a modern Range Rover is a dealer job, not a locksmith job.

Two more are worth considering depending on the car's age and who travels in it. Zero-depreciation cover stops the insurer deducting for part wear when it settles a claim, which is most valuable in the first three or four years. Personal accident cover extends protection to the driver and passengers rather than the vehicle.

How to reduce your Range Rover premium

You will not make a Range Rover cheap to insure, but you can move the number several thousand dirhams without cutting cover that matters.

Compare before you renew
The largest saving available. Renewal quotes are rarely the best price in the market for the same cover.
Raise the voluntary excess
Agreeing to pay more towards a claim lowers the annual premium — worth doing if you rarely claim.
Protect your no-claims discount
A clean record compounds year on year and is the most durable discount on the policy.
Fit an approved tracker
A recognised tracking device reduces theft exposure on a high-value SUV and can attract a discount.
Drop agency repair at the right time
Once the car is past five years, agency repair rarely justifies its cost. Moving to a non-agency policy is the single biggest lever.

Your no-claims discount is the one saving that survives changing insurer, provided you carry the proof across with you.

How to buy Range Rover insurance online with Lookinsure

Buying car insurance for a Range Rover online takes a few minutes and needs your licence and plate number to start.

Step 1
Start a quote
Open Lookinsure and select an instant quote.
Step 2
Enter your details
Provide your driving licence and vehicle plate number, and confirm the model and trim.
Step 3
Compare the offers
Review quotes side by side, checking agency repair and sum insured rather than price alone.
Step 4
Add your extensions
Select the add-ons you want and see the effect on the premium immediately.
Step 5
Confirm and pay
Pay in full, or spread the cost — you can pay in instalments with Tabby or Tamara at checkout.
Step 6
Receive your policy
Your policy document is issued by email once payment clears.

An annual premium of AED 18,000 on an Autobiography is a large single payment, which is why the installment options are worth knowing about. You can pay for your policy in installments with Tabby, or split the premium with Tamara, without changing the cover you have selected.

Renewing Range Rover insurance online

Renew before the policy lapses — a gap in cover means an uninsured vehicle on UAE roads and can cost you your accumulated no-claims discount.

Step 1
Sign in
Log in to your Lookinsure account and open your dashboard.
Step 2
Select the policy
Choose the policy due for renewal from your current and previous cover.
Step 3
Review and adjust
Update the sum insured to the car's current value and reconsider agency repair as the car ages.
Step 4
Compare against the market
Check the renewal offer against fresh quotes before accepting it.
Step 5
Pay and receive the policy
Complete payment and the renewed document arrives by email.

Documents you need for Range Rover insurance

Have these ready before you start a quote — all five are needed to issue a policy.

Emirates ID
Required for all UAE residents.
Valid UAE driving licence
The licence of the main driver, plus any named additional drivers.
Vehicle registration card
The Mulkiya, showing the chassis number and registration details.
Passport and visa copy
Required for expatriate residents.
Previous policy document
Needed to carry your no-claims discount across when you switch insurer.

How to claim on Range Rover insurance

Call the police first. In the UAE a motor claim cannot proceed without a police report, and leaving the scene before one is issued can invalidate the claim entirely.

Step 1
Call the police
Report from the scene and obtain the police report — it is the document the whole claim rests on.
Step 2
Notify your insurer
Contact the insurer as soon as possible with your policy number and the report reference.
Step 3
Complete the claim form
Fill in the claim form available through Lookinsure.
Step 4
Attach the evidence
Submit the police report, photographs of the damage and your registration card.
Step 5
Agree the repairer
Confirm whether the car goes to the authorised dealer or an approved garage before work begins.
Step 6
Track the claim
Follow the claim through to settlement from your Lookinsure account.

Frequently asked questions

GIG Gulf, AFNIC, Sukoon, Al Sagr, Salama, Oriental and RAK all write cover for luxury SUVs in the UAE. Judge them on whether agency repair is available for your car's age and how the sum insured is set, not on premium alone, then compare quotes across all of them before deciding.

Comprehensive cover costs AED 4,500 to AED 25,000 a year, depending on the model. An Evoque runs AED 4,500 to AED 6,500, a Sport AED 8,500 to AED 14,000, and an Autobiography AED 18,000 and above. Third-party liability starts at AED 1,000. Figures verified in September 2026.

Spread across twelve months, comprehensive cover works out at roughly AED 375 to AED 540 for an Evoque and AED 1,500 to AED 2,080 for an Autobiography. UAE motor policies are annual contracts, so this is a budgeting figure — though you can split the premium into instalments at checkout.

Evoque insurance costs AED 4,500 to AED 6,500 a year comprehensive, or AED 1,000 to AED 1,300 for third-party liability. It is the cheapest Range Rover to insure because it has the lowest replacement value and the smallest engines in the range, and shares parts widely across the Land Rover platform.

Yes. Third-party liability is legal in the UAE and costs AED 1,000 to AED 3,000 a year for a Range Rover. But it pays nothing towards your own vehicle, so on a car worth AED 200,000 or more you are carrying the entire replacement cost yourself. Comprehensive cover is strongly recommended.

No, not by default. Standard comprehensive policies in the UAE cover on-road use, and damage sustained while driving in the desert or off tarmac is normally excluded. If you take your Range Rover into the dunes, declare that use to your insurer and confirm in writing that it is covered.

Yes, with a valid UAE driving licence, but expect a substantial loading. Insurers price young and newly licensed drivers as higher risk, and that effect is amplified on a high-value SUV. Some insurers decline drivers under 25 on vehicles in this class, so compare widely rather than accepting the first quote.
