Hyundai car insurance in the UAE starts at AED 547 a year for third-party cover and AED 1,120 for comprehensive cover, based on quotes Lookinsure pulled across five Hyundai models. A Hyundai policy is an ordinary UAE motor policy priced against your car's market value, your claims record and the emirate it is registered in — the badge on the grille matters far less than most owners expect.
The Accent, Elantra, Tucson and Santa Fe sit in the mid-value bracket where insurers compete hardest, which is why the gap between the cheapest and most expensive quote on the same car can be larger than the gap between two different Hyundais. That is the whole argument for comparing rather than renewing on autopilot. You can compare car insurance quotes online in a couple of minutes and buy the same day.
Insurers price each model against its repair cost, theft record and typical driver profile, so the ranking below is not the same as the showroom price ranking. Every figure is the actual spread we saw between the cheapest and most expensive quote on that car.
Third-party cover for a Hyundai Accent quoted between AED 600 and AED 630.40, and comprehensive between AED 1,120 and AED 1,445.
The Accent is the cheapest Hyundai to insure comprehensively relative to its value, and at these numbers the difference between third party and full cover is around AED 520 a year — less than most owners assume when they default to the legal minimum.
Car insurance for a Hyundai Elantra came back at AED 600 for third-party cover from three separate insurers — Methaq car insurance, RAK car insurance and Dubai National car insurance all landed on the same figure.
Comprehensive ran AED 1,120 to AED 1,445. When three insurers tie on price, compare the benefits instead: ambulance cover, windscreen limits and replacement-car days are where they separate.
The Sonata produced the cheapest quote in the whole set: AED 547 a year for third-party cover.
Comprehensive quoted AED 1,120 to AED 1,445, the same band as the Accent and Elantra. If you drive an older Sonata that has depreciated well below AED 25,000, third party plus a couple of add-ons is often the rational choice.
Car insurance for a Hyundai Tucson quoted AED 622 to AED 780 for third-party cover and AED 1,120 to AED 1,600 for comprehensive, with Orient car insurance sitting in the middle of the comprehensive range at AED 1,483.
The Tucson is the model where the comprehensive spread widens most, so it is the one worth comparing hardest. It is also the Hyundai most likely to leave tarmac, which makes off-road cover a real consideration rather than an upsell.
The Santa Fe is the most expensive Hyundai on this list to insure third party, at AED 780 to AED 800, but its comprehensive quotes matched the rest of the range at AED 1,120 to AED 1,600.
That inversion is worth noticing: on a Santa Fe the step up from third party to full cover costs proportionally less than on any other Hyundai here.
The Creta, Venue, Kona, i10, Palisade and Ioniq 5 are all insurable on the Lookinsure panel, and the Creta in particular prices close to the Tucson band. We have not published figures for them here because we have not quoted them under the same conditions as the five above, and an insurance estimate that has not been quoted is not worth printing. Run your plate through the quote form and you will get the real number for your car.
The table below shows the cheapest quote Lookinsure returned for each Hyundai model, split by cover type. These are live panel quotes, not estimates.
| Hyundai model | Cheapest third party (AED/year) | Cheapest comprehensive (AED/year) | Cheapest insurer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hyundai Sonata | 547 | 1,120 | Methaq |
| Hyundai Accent | 600 | 1,120 | Methaq |
| Hyundai Elantra | 600 | 1,120 | Methaq, RAK, Dubai National (tied on TPL) |
| Hyundai Tucson | 622 | 1,120 | Methaq |
| Hyundai Santa Fe | 780 | 1,120 | RAK (TPL), Methaq (comprehensive) |
Quotes verified from the Lookinsure panel. Model year, vehicle value, driver age and emirate of registration were held constant across the set. Your own quote will differ.
Here is the single most useful thing in that table: the cheapest comprehensive quote came back at AED 1,120 on every model, from the Accent to the Santa Fe. Methaq returned the same entry premium across the whole range. The insurer you choose moves your Hyundai car insurance price more than which Hyundai you drive.
Third-party quotes ranged from AED 547 to AED 800 across the five models, and comprehensive from AED 1,120 to AED 1,600. So the realistic budget for a mainstream Hyundai in the UAE is roughly AED 550–800 for the legal minimum and AED 1,100–1,600 for full cover.
Third-party car insurance is the legal minimum under the UAE's Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy and is required before the RTA or any emirate authority will register or renew your Hyundai. It pays for injury and damage you cause to other people. It pays nothing towards your own car.
| Insurer | Hyundai model quoted | Price (AED/year) |
|---|---|---|
| Methaq | Sonata | 547 |
| RAK Insurance | Sonata | 575 |
| Methaq | Accent / Elantra | 600 |
| Dubai National Insurance | Elantra | 600 |
| Methaq | Tucson | 622 |
| Insurance House | Accent / Sonata | 630.40 |
| Fidelity United | Tucson | 700 |
| RAK Insurance | Tucson / Santa Fe | 780 |
| Fidelity United | Santa Fe | 800 |
Two things stand out. Methaq is the cheapest third-party option on four of the five models, and Fidelity United car insurance prices the larger Hyundais noticeably higher than the sedans — a reminder that third-party premiums still track the vehicle, even though the cover does not.
Comprehensive car insurance adds your own car to the policy: collision damage you caused, fire, theft, vandalism, and storm or flood damage. For a financed Hyundai it is not optional — the bank will require it for the life of the loan.
| Insurer | Hyundai models quoted | Price (AED/year) |
|---|---|---|
| Methaq | Accent, Elantra, Sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe | 1,120 |
| Adamjee Insurance | Accent, Elantra, Sonata, Santa Fe | 1,375 |
| Insurance House | Accent, Elantra, Sonata | 1,445 |
| Orient Insurance | Tucson | 1,483 |
| RAK Insurance | Tucson, Santa Fe | 1,600 |
Methaq returned an identical AED 1,120 comprehensive premium on all five models, which reads as a flat entry premium rather than a value-based rate. Check the sum insured on the schedule before you buy on price alone.
Between Adamjee car insurance at AED 1,375 and Insurance House car insurance at AED 1,445 the difference is AED 70 a year — small enough that the benefit schedule should decide it, not the premium.
Choose comprehensive if your Hyundai is financed, is under seven years old, or has a market value above roughly AED 30,000. Choose third party if it is an older Accent, Elantra or Sonata worth less than about AED 20,000 and you could absorb replacing it.
The arithmetic is straightforward on these numbers. Stepping up from third party to comprehensive on a Hyundai costs around AED 500 to AED 900 a year. If your car is worth AED 45,000, that is roughly 1.5% of its value to protect all of it. If it is worth AED 15,000, you are paying a twentieth of the car's value every year to insure it — and after two or three years you have spent more than the car is worth. Our guide to comprehensive and third-party cover compared walks through the edge cases.
A comprehensive Hyundai policy in the UAE is built on the Unified Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy issued under the Central Bank of the UAE, so the core cover is the same wherever you buy it. The differences live in the limits and the optional extras.
Every exclusion below appears in the standard UAE policy wording. None of them is negotiable, and none of them is unusual — but claims are refused on them every week.
Add-ons are where a AED 1,120 policy and a AED 1,600 policy stop being comparable. These are the ones that earn their premium on a mainstream Hyundai rather than padding the quote.
On the Lookinsure panel, roadside assistance cover, windscreen cover and personal accident cover can each be priced separately, so you can see what the extra is actually costing rather than accepting a bundled figure.
Agency repair sends your car to an authorised Hyundai workshop using genuine parts. Garage repair sends it to the insurer's approved network. Agency repair typically adds 15% to 25% to a comprehensive premium, and most UAE insurers restrict it to cars under three to five years old.
Take agency repair while the Hyundai manufacturer warranty is still running, because a non-genuine part fitted outside the network can complicate a warranty claim later. Once the car is out of warranty, the approved-garage route is the better value, and the network quality varies enough between insurers to be worth checking first — Methaq's approved garage list is a good example of what to look for. If you prefer the dealer route, our directory of Hyundai service centres in the UAE covers the authorised network across the emirates.
You do not have to pay the full premium up front. Lookinsure supports Hyundai car insurance in installments through buy-now-pay-later, split into four interest-free payments, subject to the provider's approval.
| Policy price (AED) | Pay today | Then |
|---|---|---|
| 547 — cheapest third party | 136.75 | 3 × 136.75 |
| 1,120 — cheapest comprehensive | 280 | 3 × 280 |
| 1,600 — Tucson or Santa Fe comprehensive | 400 | 3 × 400 |
Both routes are available at checkout: you can pay for car insurance with Tabby or split the car insurance premium with Tamara, with eligibility and limits set by the provider rather than by us. Cover starts on the day the policy is issued, not when the last instalment clears.
Hyundai insurance is priced by a rating engine, and six variables do most of the work in it. Three of them you can change this year; three of them you cannot.
Cheap Hyundai car insurance is mostly a matter of not leaving money on the table at renewal. These six moves are worth real money on a mainstream Hyundai.
The largest single lever is the no-claims bonus, which can reach 50% with some UAE insurers after several claim-free years. If you are shopping purely on price, compare quotes from every insurer on our panel before you commit to any one of them.
The whole process runs online and takes a few minutes. Renewal follows the same path — there is no separate journey and no paperwork to post.
Nothing has to be posted or presented in person. You may be asked to upload images of the following.
Report first, repair second. A claim filed without a police report is the most common reason a UAE motor claim is rejected outright.
If the Hyundai is not the only car on the driveway, the same panel and the same instalment options apply across the rest of the market.
